This mask is hand-sculpted from white clay, bisque-fired, and decorated with slips, before being fired a second time at 1220 degrees, for a clear glaze finish.

Dimensions: 15cm x 12cm x 5cm

Each piece takes approximately 4-6 weeks to create. I update my store every two months and truly appreciate your patience and understanding, handmade ceramics process.

Shipping time: Each piece takes 1 or 2 days to be carefully packaged, and 7 to 10 business days to arrive at your doorstep.

I conceive my pieces as vehicles, as objects of power imbued with symbolism and possibilities. Each object is an amulet, charged with magic, ready to be used in the way each person chooses. Some believe they serve as entities that protect them before venturing into the external world and its infinite stimuli. Others see them as beings to whom they can make wishes, which will later be granted. Some simply place them on their altars to express gratitude for the beauty of existence.

From a symbolic perspective, I like to think of my pieces as thresholds that activate contact with ancestral forces, tutelary spirits, and transpersonal entities. As Rodolfo Kusch (1976) highlights in his exploration of Andean indigenous thought, the ritual gesture provides access to an existential dimension distinct from Western modernity. Within this framework, each piece is not merely an artifact but a vehicle of presence. It does not "represent" the sacred; it makes it present, invokes it, and embodies it. Its materiality—wood, clay, textiles, feathers—is not incidental but an extension of the very power it channels.

Miriam Brüggmann is a small studio dedicated to crafting limited batches of handmade ceramics. I personally shape, refine, and finish each piece with great care and attention to detail.
